The avocado is an evergreen tree that grows to a height of about 9-18 meters. It has dark oval leaves and greenish yellow flowers that develop into yellow, green, red, or purple fruit. The pulp is soft and buttery with a large kernel inside.
Avocado oil is usually categorised as a vegetable oil, despite the fact that, it is actually a fruit. The oil extracted from this fruit is of immense use in Aromatherapy for giving relaxing massages. Texture wise, the oil is a bit heavy and lends a waxy fatty feel to the skin. It penetrates deeply into the skin and is a rich source of rich in vitamins A, B1, B2 and D, lecithin, potassium, vitamin E, Linoleic acid and Oleic acid all are very vital for the human body. An excellent emollient and ideal base, carrier oil; it is nourishing and protecting to the skin, calms skin irritation and can be used on its own or with other carrier oils. It has good keeping qualities due to its vitamin E content.
